Believers worldwide are joining together on August 8th, 2006 for the fifth annual International Day of Prayer for the Maltese Islands. Located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, the tiny island nation of Malta is a popular tourist destination with its warm weather, beautiful shorelines, and friendly people. You are invited to learn more about the Maltese islands and the hospitable people who once showed unusual kindness (Acts 28:1,2) to the Apostle Paul.
Join in - your prayers make a difference!
Who is praying?
This effort is being coordinated by missionaries from the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in America but is open to all born again believers. It will also involve an inter-denominational prayer service of local churches in Malta. See the schedule of activities to be held in Malta for August 8th 2006.
Why August 8th?
Many believers use the popular "Operation World" publication by Patrick Johnstone to aid them in praying knowledgeably for countries around the globe. Malta is listed on August 8th and therefore we chose to join in with those who were already praying on this day.
How can I be involved?
First, commit to join us personally and then encourage others to be a part of this international event with eternal results. All churches, prayer teams, and small groups are invited to join us in prayer.
We are asking churches to use part of their service time on Sunday, August 6th to pray corporately, and then encourage their church members to pray individually or in small groups on Tuesday, August 8th.
Prayer Guides and PowerPoint presentations are available on this site, or you can request them by email. Feel free to duplicate them as needed.
For more information you can contact us by telephone or email.
Will you be praying on August 8th? Please let us know!!!
